What a great final of the minor pairs on Sunday! Newcomers to the competition, Lisa and Kieth Jones pushed Greg Chester and Marc Stevens all the way. Greg and Marc won 17/11 over the 21 ends and Marc in the last four end gained a single shot to secured the victory. There was good support for both sides from the sideline.
In another match of O’Brien Cup, Graham and Michael Traves proved too strong for Brad Bourke and Cristy Sullivan-Webb. Well done for Cristy turning up to play after being unwell during the week.
This weekend the Cowra versatile pairs will be played at both Canowindra and Cowra.There will be 28 teams at Canowindra on Saturday with all games at Cowra on Sunday. We have a reported 6 teams competing and we wish them luck in the competition.
On Sunday social bowls can be played for anyone not involved in the tournament.
Competition games commence the following weekend. Thursday afternoon bowls at 2pm still seeing great support, with the jackpot growing. Items will be on display soon for the major jackpot draw on 30 August.
