There were great bowls played over the weekend, headlined by the O’Brien Cup game on Saturday with Jamie G and Teddy playing Graham and Michael.
The match had many changes of lead throughout the game.
On the 21st end scores were locked at 25 all. A toss of the coin saw Michael and Graham choose the mat, and this end was the same as the previous ends, with both sides having shot however Teddy just failed to draw the winning shot, going down by a shot. Jamie G played his best game to date, matched by Michael’s game as skipper. It was a good return for Graham after a short break.
The other game of minor triples was highlighted by return and new bowlers playing.
Corey, Tracey and Tia played Steve, Jarrod and Lane in a match could have gone either way. Corey,Tracey and Tia held on for a close victory.
Sunday saw the same trend as Saturday, with new bowlers in competition. Cristy, Kieth and Lisa played Eryn, Jamie S JamieG in a minor triples. In the early stages of the game the scores were close, but half way through the game Eryn, and the two Jamie’s pulled away for a solid victory.
This coming Saturday 11 July, the semifinal of Major pairs will be played betweenBarney and Teddy versus Glen and Deb at 1pm. This match will be great match-up with the winner going on to play Dool and Peter the following weekend.
Badge draws for this week are Wednesday $250, Friday $200 and Sunday $650.
Members are reminded that after 1 August there is the possibility of price increases due to breweries and regulatory increases.
