Men’s Bowls

8 April, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

What a great weekend of bowls with excellent contest in major and minor singles.

Marc and Eryn had a great time with both bowlers playing excellent draw bowls. Eryn led 24/21 with Marc holding 3 shot and a chance to draw an extra shot to win, but it wasn’t be and they went into the last end 24/24. Marc and Eryn each had two close bowls in which they were unable to confirm who had shot. Eryn just missed by the smallest margin of hitting Marc’s bowl.

It came down to the closest of measure to get a result, and the win went to Marc 25/24.

Crock took on Brad in the semi final of the major singles. Crock tried hard but was unable to handle Brad’s consistency on the day. Brad now has moved into the final.

Dool and Benny faced off again, and what a game it was. Dool raced away to lead early 10/2. The game progressed with Benny slowly making headway, the question was could he run Dool down with the score 18/14 in Dool’s favour. Benny scored

12 shots to Dool 3 in the following ends to claim victory.

This week Ben plays Cristy on Tuesday evening with the winner going on to play Marc in the semifinal. Graham and Marc are playing off on Thursday morning in the minor singles match. Eryn and Greg C are playing on Sunday.

On Monday we had Easter social bowls with 30 players participating. The weather was brilliant after a morning shower of rain.

Thanks to all members and visitors for taking part. We all enjoyed a BBQ after the games and thanks to Tia and Bruce for cooking on the day. Winners on the day were Tot Greg C and Brad and the runnersup were Nigel, Crock and Marc.

Grooves on the Green will be held at the Bowling Club from 3pm on Sunday 12 April, featuring local favourites the Guilty Dogs. Come along for a Sunday Session vibe with food, family, friends and club raffles. Courtesy bus available in town, call club for details.
