Men’s Bowls

18 March, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The 6s went to Parkes for their last round of pennants hoping to secure victory to advance to the sectional playoff. All teams played well in a very social atmosphere, Canowindra went to a big lead on the big board early and held on to margin to complete a comfortable victory,9/1 overall.

Information will come through soon as to which venue they be playing on 16-17 May.

The 7s played well over at Manildra going down 9/1 overall. The match was close with only five shots on the big board. The 7s played well in all games, only to just missing out on victory.

Thanks to all players for competing in the pennants round, it has been greatly appreciated by the selectors and the club.

There will a BBQ on Sunday 22 March at lunch time following the open fours final which starts at 10am.

We had 24 players at Thursday afternoon bowls, which was great to see so many players return from around the district.

Corey Rooke defeated Crock Watt in a minor singles match. Corey went to a early lead 13/4. Crock fought back to only trail by two 13/15. The match could have gone either way but Corey held to win 25/18.

On Friday night twilight bowls also had 24 players, it was a great evening for bowls.

Badge draws for this week are Wednesday $900, Friday $2,800 and Sunday $100.
