Men’s Bowls

4 March, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The sevens almost caused an upset in their match against Cowra at Cowra. Two sides won their game by a point and the other side only lost by 4.

Cowra won their game on the big board by two shots. Canowindra lost 8/2 which means they are unable to get enough points to go through to the zone play off. The team now play at home against Eugowra hoping for their excellent form to continue.

The six’s travelled to Caragabal for their match. A win may have secured them a place in the playoffs. Caragabal have a very strong side and they jumped out of the gates running. Two teams were down by multiple shots early in the game with the other team holding their own. With some luck, the margin may been reduced but Caragabal were too strong on their own turf. In the second half of the match Canowindra scored more shots but the lead was too big to drag back. Final score on their big board 79/56. The points Caragable 9.5 to .5 Canowindra had draw on one rink.

This week a win against Cowra at home is essential. Three teams, either Canowindra, Caragable or Cowra will go through to the playoff depending on the last two rounds.Good luck to the following teams:

6’s teams:

• Brent, Teddy, Roger

• Jack, Glen, Phil

• Tony, Barney, Dool

• Ben, Brad, Warren

7’s teams:

• Mick , Mark, Greg

• Eryn, Corey, Crock

• Graham, Steve F, Christy

• Jarrod, Tim, Jamie G
