Men’s Bowls

29 October, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Congratulations to Major Triples winners Teddy, Barney and Steve who defeated Roger, Tony and Ben 31/7.

The much anticipated final of the major triples was played on Saturday morning.

Teddy, Barney and Steve, who had won their semifinal the week before, went into the game slight favourites after a comfortable win. Early in the match there were very tight ends played, and on the end 6 Teddy’s team gained 7 shots to lead 11/4.

Steve lead beautifully to set up the heads and Barney playing his best bowls and Teddy also playing well, went onto a comfortable win. Roger, Tony and Ben tried hard throughout the game but it wasn’t their day.

Final score 31/7, with a few ends up their sleeve.

Dool and Ben will play their consistently match next week and all other games can be played by mutual agreement.

The mixed pairs competition is closing on the weekend, with the first round to be played on Wednesday 5 November at 6pm.

On the club front we had many visitors turn out for our Thursday afternoon bowls and twilight bowls. Winners on Friday were Tot Fisher and Warren Rodis.

On Tuesday will be the Punts and Platters Day for the Melbourne Cup, so come along and join in the festivitiec – the club opens at 10am.

On 30 November will be the big Christmas major market night, at approximately 7:30pm after the usual raffles. Badge draws this week are Wednesday $850, Friday $800 and Sunday $550. Social bowls this Sunday at 1:30pm – all welcome.
