Men’s Bowls

22 October, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

After defeating Harry Webb in a classic consistency match the previous week Bob Cann, took on the in-form Larry Nunn. Larry’s years of experience paved the way for a good win, 151/119. Larry is now in the final waiting for his opponent. In the other side of the draw, Ben Rooke versus Dool in the coming weeks.

In the semifinals of the Major Triples Teddy, Barney and Steve had a impressive win over Phil, Brent Lees and Jamie Grant. In the early stage there was nothing between the sides.Teddy’s team picked up 6 shots on the 14th end and Phil’s team couldn’t bridge the margin with the final score 23/14.

The final of the Major Triples will be played on Saturday at 11am between Teddy Lawrence, Barney Robson and Steve Fisher and Roger Traves,Tony Tuimauga and Ben Rooke.

No games are scheduled for Sunday as many teams are travelling to the Gooloogong social bowls day – good luck to all.

The open fours matches will be played on the weekend of 1-2 November. In the first match Tony Ben, Caine and Peter B played Roger Westy Eryn and Greg W. The scores were very close in the first quarter, but then the sun set, and Tony and his team won seven ends straight to secure a comprehensive win 29/14.

Thursday afternoon social bowls had a good roll-up and the jackpot was won, so we start building again. There were strong numbers for Friday twilight bowls, with Michael and Eryn securing the overall win.

The club held their annual general meeting on Sunday with a good attendance from the members. We wish the incoming board all the best for the upcoming year.
