Men’s Bowls

11 June, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

On the weekend there was no bowl’s due to the weather. During the week we had two singles game on Wednesday. In the major singles Crowey and Brent did battle, with Crowey showing bowls in the head win games. There was little between both players earlier in the match, but Crowey consistently putting bowls in the count proved a match winner.

In the other match, Jack Webb and Mitch McAlister played off. Jack having not played many bowls since pennant season pushed Mitch all the way. Mitch continued his good form and won the match.

On Thursday 16 players took advantage of a sunny afternoon. With the days becoming shorter, we may have to make some small adjustments.

Last Sunday we had our Sunday session and what a great night it was, with excellent music from Michael Wynne. His performance of a mixture off older and newer songs entertained both visitors and guests.

Thanks for all involved in organising the event.

The Badge draw went off to a lucky member on Wednesday and now we begin again with $50, Friday $500 and Sunday $550. On the 29 June, there will be a major jackpot draw after meat trays.

This weeks games are as follows:

Saturday 14 June

• Phil Lees V David Beath marker Michael Traves

• Brad Bourke V Mitch McAlister marker Greg Chester

• Caine Rooke V Marc Steven’s marker Greg WrightSunday 15 June

• Brent Lees and David Crowe V L Nunn and David Watt.

Next week Triples or O’Brien Cup games will commence.
