Men’s Bowls

21 May, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Last Wednesday afternoon Leanne and Larry did battle, Larry was in good form and had a comfortable win.

On Thursday we had Marc play Bob, Bob is improving all the time but Marc was on his main game and won 25/7.

Saturday there were four game completed. Greg W eventually defeated Eryn 25/10. Bourke had a comprehensive win over Nigel 25/11, Nigel fought back late in the match but couldn’t catch the lead.

Greg Chester played well against Barney and the match couldn’t have went either way half way through.Barney went onto win 26/14. Phil Lees had a comfortable win over Peter Taylor 26/6.

Sunday we had the major pairs game with Crowey and Brent versus Ben and Tony. As expected, this game was a cracker, there was nothing in the scoring throughout. Ben and Tony lead early and at the half way point the scores were even at 12 a piece.

Crowey and Brent went on to win 23/19.

In the other pairs game Greg W and Eryn played Larry and Crock. Greg and Eryn were foes the day before, but combined well to outplay Larry and crock 31/7.

Thanks for all the markers on the weekend.

An enjoyable dinner was held on Friday for the twilight bowlers. Tot Fisher won the most successful player over the season and Brad won the most appearances in the season. There also a presentation to Annie for her work helping Sharon in organising games. The week before, Sharon was presented flowers for her good work. Congratulations to all players and helpers for a great twilight bowl’s season.
