Men’s Bowls

30 April, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Last weekend we had a great number turnout for a mufti afternoon of bowls with 20 players. We had all the winning teams in a hat and drew out the winners, Roger and Mark Delaney. In the second draw, the unlucky players had a chance of a win and Brent and Monique names were drawn out.

This week we had a couple of games after the excellent rain over the weekend. Congratulations to the players for playing.

Crock and Larry had a good win over Steve and Jarrod and Jarrod could only get a single shot on most ends and couldn’t catch Larry and crock in a minor pairs match.

In the other game of Major pairs Peter and Jamie S defeated Harry and Caine. Peter and Jamie took the lead early, and although Harry and Caine gave a strong fight back, they weren’t able to make up the difference.

This weekend there will be no games on Saturday due to the Balloon Festival. On Sunday we have the following matches,at 1 pm: Eryn and Greg W v Sparky and Ken; Marc and Greg C v Michael and Graham.

On Thursday Ben and Tony play Brent and Crowey.

Well done to the Canowindra Public School P and C on their trivia night held Monday evening. There was a great attendance and congratulations to the organisers and the winners.

Badge draws for this week are Wednesday $750, Friday $800 Sunday $250. Social bowls will be played on Thursday at 2pm, all welcome. The greens available for rollups all week. Bingo will be on Thursday morning at 11am visitors welcome.

Have a good week enjoying the balloon activities.
