Men’s Bowls

19 March, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The pennants season is coming to a close with the fives heading to Parkes on Sunday. The bus is leaving at 9.15am from the Club, players are advised to get their bowls on Saturday. Last weekend the fives went down in a close game, the big board changed several times with both teams trying to get the upper hand but Molong held on to win 61/47. Molong won two rinks to one making the total score 9/1. We wish Molong all the best in the next rounds.

Canowindra has a strong chance of winning their last Match.

The sevens had a slow start to their match against a very strong team from Bathurst Magellan. Although Magellan had a big lead early, Canowindra fought back to only narrowly losing on one rink and winning one rink.

We would like to thank all players for their efforts this and look forward to playing the pairs competition the second week of April.

Players for Parkes:

• R Traves, P Lees, A Wyburn, C Rooke

• D Crowe, R Fitzgerald, B McClintock, B Bourke

• B Lees, J Webb , A Robson, B Rooke.

This Sunday we have our mini major jackpot prize draw after the regular meat draws.

Next week we have our Vinnie Mirto Memorial Day on Saturday 29 March, please put your names on the board at the club.

There will be vouchers for the winners and a BBQ after the game. Play commences at 11am and the cost is $20 per player.
