Men’s Bowls

29 May, 2024 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Last weekend saw a semi final of major pairs. It was a tight game throughout, with Barney and Teddy proving to strong in the final stages to defeat Peter and Dool.

On Sunday, the Minor Triples match end ed up a close encounter. Early on Brad, Bar ry and Sparky had a handy lead but Marc, Greg and Garry stormed home just falling short 25/19. Well done to the new team of Marc, Greg and Garry.

There will be no competition bowls this weekend. A social bowls afternoon is planned for Sunday, starting at 1pm, cost ing $5 a head with proceeds going towards accommodation at Yamba. All are invited to come along for a fun afternoon.

Tickets in the wood raffle are available at the club for $2 each or three for $5. The first wood raffle stall for the year will be in Gaskill Street this Saturday 1st June. The next selling day will be Friday 7th, with the raffle to be drawn on Sunday 9th June af ter the meat trays. There is also ‘Hundred Club’ tickets available at the club and will be drawn when full. All proceeds are going towards Accomodation and meals for State pennants playoffs on 28th – 30th June.
