The Canowindra number 6s have progressed to the State playoffs at Yamba on 28th – 30th June. Canowindra defeated Wallerawang on Saturday morning in a 9.5 to 0.5 points win. The afternoon match against Parkes Railway was a nail biter. Canowindra was well behind in the early stages of the match. The green was very quick and it took Canowindra boys a little time to recover their form. Eventually Canowindra fought back to draw on the the big board 62/62 shots. Winning two rinks gave us a 5.5 to 4.5 points win.
Canowindra played Dubbo City on Sunday morning and required a win on the big board to secure a win. Canowindra hit the ground running, with all teams playing well. We went on to win the last match comfortably to win the Zone 4 Pennant. Thanks for all the supporters who travelled to Cowra to cheer the team on. Congratulations to all players and good luck in the State playoffs.
