It was a great weekend at the club with the Anniversary Triples and the Ron Worboys memorial pairs being held. There were 22 teams on Saturday and a full complement of 28 teams on Sunday. Congratulations to all who helped on the weekend making it such a great event and thanks to all the teams who competed for their support.

The winners on Saturday were the local team of M Lawrence, A Robson and R Fitzgerald. The runners-up were Shorty Shaw (Queensland), J Webb and N Townsend (Bathurst). Semi-finalists were Geoff Lockwood – team Orange Country Club and Glen Seton team. Round winners were Ron Coyte – team Orange City, Andrew Armstrong – team Grenfell and J Pickard – team Cowra.

The Sunday results saw back to back finalists Glen and Neville Seton prevailing again to win in a close battle. The runners -up were Brad and Col. Semi-finalists wereRon Coyte and Bernie, Geoff Lockwood and Peter. Round winners were J Archer and Ray Fitzallen – Bathurst City, Troy and Sam – Manildra and Wayne Eastwood – Millthorpe.

A strong crowd watched the finals and were treated to exciting matches, with two semifinals playing an extra end to determine a winner.

Friday night twilight bowls had a tremendous turnout with 26 bowlers. There was great support for the Australia Day entertainment, thanks to all the members and guests for coming along and well done to the organisers.

Thursday social bowls had eight players, with the jackpot not going off.

Two lucky bowlers won the jackpot last week. Championship events close in two weeks.

The Wednesday and Sunday badge draws are each $500 and the Friday badge draw is $600.
