Last Sunday a hugely successful Fuzz Thompson Memorial Day was held, with twenty teams competing. A warm welcome was extended to Fuzz’s family members including Glen, Elaine, Greg, Kathy and Norm. Thanks to Glen and Norm for filling in for a team at the last minute and thanks to Kevin and his board limited assisting the men’s bowls committee to make the day run smoothly.
Thanks also goes to the bowling ladies for catering for the day and to Kevin and Dick for organising breakfast. Winners on the day were Terry Hetherington’s team from Parkes Railway and runners up were Geoff Flannery’s team from Eugowra. Round winners were Andrew Gosper’s team from Malidra, Barry Sebery’s team from Blayney and Clive Anderson’s team from Grenfell. Special thanks to the sponsors, without them the day could not be run. On Saturday a major singles match was played with Brent Lees against Roger
Traves. It wasn’t one of Roger’s better days, with Brent leading throughout to win the game 31-13.
