Men’s Bowls

17 August, 2023 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Canowindra Bowing Club had an amazing rollup for bowls last Thursday 10th August. The social bowls and jackpot were not won, therefore it will be $175 next week.

In Consistency games over the weekend, Brad Bourke had an impressive win over Phil Lees. The match was nail bitingly close until the 135 points mark, but Brad had success on his mind, which pulled him into the win.

Roger and Dool had an interesting battle, with both players leading throughout the game as the scores were level at 100 to 100. Roger claimed the mat, lengthening the end and which led him to go on and win 151 to 129.

In the O’Brien Cup, Westy and Tony demonstrated too strong for Phil and Margo Lees. Phill was thanked by the Bowling Club for playing two games for the day, his participation and displays of mateship were appreciated by everybody.

Games for this week are as follows:

• Major Triples 1pm: N Knight, M Traves, B McClintock v B Robson, Tot Fisher, P Jones.

• O’Brien Cup 1pm: D Beath, R Fitzgerald v H Webb, J Webb.

• Consistency Singles 10am: B McClintock v Ben Rooke Marker TBA.

Social Bowls for any other players commence at 1pm. The name sheet to ensure a spot are located on the bar, to participate names must be in by 1pm.

The members badge draws for this week will be Wednesday $700, Friday $800 and Sunday $100.

Don’t forget to head down to the Bowling Club on Thursday for bingo at 11am.
