This Saturday, 1st July the bowlers are having a mixed mufti day commencing at 1pm. There will be prizes for winners and runners up: 70% to the winner 30% runner’s up. There will be a $10 entry fee to participate. All winning cards will be drawn out of a hat, and everyone is welcome to play.
On Saturday, 24th June B. Lees had an early lead against D. Crowe and won, 25/15. B. McClintock won against F. Barton, 25/15.
H. Webb and B. McClintock played major singles. Harry had an early lead of 16 to 9 around the halfway mark, Clinka fought back to be only 5 shots behind. Clinka won the next three ends to win 25/24.
In minor triples F. Barton, G. Fairley, W. Fisher played C. Rooke, J. Webb, B. Rooke. Jack’s side led most of the way and went on to win with a fightback late by Tot’s team, winning 18/13.
On Sunday, 25th June a major fours match between D. Beath, R. Traves, P. Taylor, S. Fisher (sub) played J. Webb, H. Webb, C. Rooke, T. Sullivan. Dool’s team scored two fours on the 19th and 21st to win 23/17.
In the minor singles game Tot defeated Brad Bourke 26/18. B. Rooke defeated M. Traves 26/18.
In the semi-final of the major singles, a great match unfolded between two giant killers, B. McClintock and Luke Salvo. With the scores locked at 24/24 all, a close head eventuated with both players holding shots at one stage. Luke, holding one shot with Clinka one to play, asked the question who was shot. Luke one, Clinka played a great line to come in and get the shot. Clinka now goes on to play Brent Lees in the final yet to be scheduled.
No competition games can be played this weekend due to player availability. It has been great to get all competitions to the semi-final or final stage with cooperation from all players and markers.
Don’t forget Thursday afternoon bowls at 2pm. The jackpot is up for grabs. Badge draws for this week are Wednesday $400, Friday $800, and Sunday $450.
