Men’s Bowls

23 February, 2023 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Phillip (Cheesy) Makin Golf/Bowls Day will be held on Saturday, 25th February. There is a sheet on the bar to put your name on and teams to be sorted out on the day. The fee will be $30 per player and the day will kick off with golf at 9.30am at the Golf Club.

The open gender Pennants commenced on Sunday with the number 6’s having a solid win against Eugowra, 9 to1. It was good to see Eugowra playing after recent events.

The Number 7’s travelled to Forbes for their match and unfortunately lost 10-0. They had to play on a sub-parr green while social bowlers enjoyed their game on a good green nearby.

The number 6’s will travel to Milthorpe for the second round this weekend. Skips will arrange transport. Normal start at 11am, players will be advised of any changes. The team is as follows: M. Lawrence, R. Traves, A. Wyburn, A. Tuimunga, D. Crowe, P. Lees, B. Lees, Z. Lees, R. Fitzgerald, A. Robson, D. Beath, P. Taylor.

The Fours and Pairs draws are on the notice board for minors’ and major competition. The draw completed at the club on Monday evening after 6pm. Thanks are extended to those who have already entered events and play will commence in two weeks with the Four’s competition on a Saturday.

Don’t forget the Sunday Session at the bowlo on Sunday, 26th commencing at 3pm.
