Men’s Bowls

Last Friday night 20 bowlers played mixed mufti bowls with the winners being Terry Mooney and Joyce Boland. The runners up were Sharon Wynn and David Crowe.

Last Saturday a consistency singles match was played with Barney Robson against Steve Kirkman. Steve was in good form to set up a handy lead of 147-103 after 25 ends.

Steve won the match 155-135 after allowing Barney to narrow the gap over the last 4 ends.

A major pairs match was also played with Roger Traves and Peter Taylor against Phil and Brent Lees. After 9 ends the scores were level at 10 all. Roger and Peter edged away winning the match 27-13.

Last Sunday a minor pairs match was played with Terry Mooney and Leanne West against Ben Rooke and Jack Webb.

Ben and Jack had a comfortable win 26-15.

A major singles match was also played with David Crowe against Tony Tuimauga. After 15 ends the scores were level at 14 all.

After 28 ends Crowy had a handy lead 30-20. Tony scored 7 shots over the next 4 ends but was unable to bridge the gap with Crowy winning 31-27.

Friday 25 February the Twilight social mixed mufti bowls will be played with the names needing to be in by 6pm for 6.30pm start.

Saturday 26 February will be the “Cheesy” Makin Bowls and Golf Day which will cost $20 per head.

Sunday 27 February the consistency singles semi final will be played with S Kirkman vs B Rooke with the marker being D Watt.

Best of luck to Westy and Crowy who travel to Manildra this weekend to compete in the Champion of Champions Pairs.

The 2022 NRL tipping competition starts soon. To enter please write your name on the registration sheet on the footy tipping board. The cost is $2 per round with full payment for the competition needing to be made by round 13.

Wednesday badge draw will be $400, Friday badge draw $2,600 and Sunday badge draw $850. Bingo this Thursday 11.30am.
