It is with much regret we inform you that the previous publicity officer has finally retired. As for any reporter there are always lots of critics and lots of fans.
Donna Mirto took liberty to ask his fans to comment on his prosperous career. She only found one but it was a different story for his critics, they were lining up! One particularly harsh critic yelled out, “his reports are skinnier than himself!” The old reporters name begins with a ‘K’ however don’t go FISHING for his surname. Saturday the major 4’s started with one game which Bruce, K. Smith, Cyril & Max defeated Duncan, Sparky, Nigel & Kenny 26-14.
On Sunday we had single president district which the winners of the afternoon games progressed to next Sunday’s play off. M Beath defeated M. Pollock 31-25, K. Aston defeated J. Pickard 32-29, J. Palmer defeated R. Bryant 31-22 and C. Draper defeated Ian Nelder 31-29 (unlucky Duncan).
Next Saturday 14th Feb is the second round of the major 4’s Bruce, Ken Smith, Max & Cyril v’s Dool, Roger, Peter & Pat Kennedy. PJ, Barney, Teddy & P. Graham v’s Vinnie, Nic Daly, Dave Sargent & Terry Mooney. Come along and watch some great bowls on the weekend, finishing off with final president district singles match Sunday afternoon.
Don’t forget Friday night bowls beginning at 6 for 6.30 & raffles are now meat and vouchers. In other news our own Terry Mooney travelled with his lovely wife to Caragabal for the seniors singles and win 32-23 which allows him back Caragabal for the semi-final and hopefully the final, good luck Terry! If anything in this report is forgotten please feel free to critique and remind Donna.
