Over 8 days Meg Austin from Canowindra had the immense pleasure of being a finalist in the RM Williams Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Rural Achiever Program at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
During this experience Meg was able to learn and experience the Sydney Royal Easter Show in all its glory. Meg’s days at the Show consisted of stewarding cattle, wood chop and horse competitions, attending personal development workshops and elevator pitch learning sessions.
Meg also got to meet the Governor of NSW at various functions at Government House. Meg thoroughly enjoyed the Parliament House tours and a behind the scenes tour of the Sydney Showground.
Some highlights of the 8 days for Meg were parading alpacas in the grand parade, meet and greets with VIP individuals, including HRH Princess Anne, dinner functions wining and dining with councillors, delegates, politicians and policy makers.
Meg also enjoyed the many “orange juices” with fellow young men and women from across NSW who are enthusiastic for rural Australia and Agricultural Shows.
The Canowindra Show are excited to be adding it’s very own Rural Achiever Program to the 2022 Canowindra Show this year.
The Canowindra Show are looking for men and women aged 20-29 who are paving the way in their rural communities to better their community and the agriculture industry. Keep watching the Canowindra Show Facebook page for ongoing announcements regarding this program and start thinking about local young people who should be recognised for what they do for our community.
