This year marks the 150 Years of Public Education in Canowindra. Both Canowindra Public and High Schools in conjunction with the Canowindra Historical Society and Museum, will celebrate this amazing achievement during 2025.
The actual School’s Celebrations will be held later in the year. Saturday 1st November the Public School will hold their Annual Fete and Open Day while the High School will hold an Open day on Sunday 2nd November 2025. It is hope that this will be a “Come Home” reunion weekend for many former and current teachers and students.
Both Schools will confirm activities later and advise of planned activities.
It is hoped to have A History in the Club presentation, sponsored by the Canowindra Historical Society and Museum, during this year. The details are yet to be finalised and will be advertised later.
The new book, The Past Fifty Year 1975 – 2025 is currently nearing completion and will be launched on Thursday 1st May 2025. Details of the Launch will be advertised once confirmed. There will also be a Pre-Launch Sale of the new book on Saturday 26th April 2025 at the Museum’s Open Day. This will coincide with the commencement of the Canowindra Balloon Challenge.
