Local Wheat Crop Regional Finalist In Statewide Competition

12 November, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Pictured are Peter Berryman, Brian Robson, Les Robson, and judge Frank McRae.

Local wheat growers Brian and Les Robson have been named one of five finalists for the central region in the 2025 AgShows NSW Suncorp Bank Dryland Wheat Competition.

Organised by AgShows NSW, the peak body representing the state’s 192 agricultural shows, this annual competition recognises excellence in wheat farming across four regions before culminating in a state final.

The State is divided into four regions — northern, central, western and southern, each of which comprises various Show Societies and NSW Farmers’ Associations who organise local competitions. The top five crops in each region are judged to determine the regional winners. The state winner will then be selected from the regional finalists.

Thanks to partnering sponsor Suncorp Bank for their continued support throughout the judging, and to the other valued sponsors — Syngenta, Market Check, Flexi Coil, The Land, Lowes Petroleum, and Dual Chelate for their important contribution to the competition.
