Education week is a state wide annual event to celebrate public education in NSW. This year’s theme is I learn, We Learn. It is a celebration of every school’s commitment to ensuring:

• Creating stronger ties with local communities
Canowindra High School invites all parents and carers of students who are beginning Year 7 in 2018 to a morning tea on Tuesday
1st August at 10am in the Staff Common Room in the Administration Building. This event will be an information session where parents and carers will meet the Principal, Year Adviser and other members of staff and students and be given a tour of the school.
Canowindra High School and Canowindra Public School students will both be involved in the Lachlan Valley Learning Community
Spectacular. Students will be performing at both a matinee and evening performance in Cowra on Wednesday 2nd August.
Canowindra High School will also be hosting an open afternoon on Friday 4th August so families can visit the children’s classroom.
Canowindra Public School will host their annual Book Fair in the library all week and an Open Day and school photos are scheduled for Thursday 3rd August. The Open Day will be from 12-1pm however parents, grandparents and carers are encouraged to stay for lunch and visit the art exhibition in the hall.
Other village schools near Canowindra include Gooloogong Public School who will hold their education week activities from 17th August and have lots planned to include a Book Fair, open classrooms and a sausage sizzle.
Cargo Public School are a small school with big opportunities and would like to invite the public to their Open Day on Thursday
3rd August from 12.30pm. Family and friends will be able to see the students Claymation projects they have been working on followed by a BBQ and afternoon tea cooked by the children and then an assembly to end the day.
Cudal Public School will hold a Book Fair all week in the Library. There will be a Book Parade on Wednesday morning along with
book reviews. On Friday, there will be a special church service, a morning tea, a special assembly and a music concert.
