Do you know your purl from your knit? Your crochet from your cross-stitch? Local knitters are wanted to ‘cast-on’ and form a Wrap With Love group in Canowindra.
Resident knitters Nina and Dawn, who wish to create the group, have been going to a group in Orange for the past few years and want to spread the woolly word to our community. “Everyone is welcome even if you can’t knit and would like to learn. All donations of 8 ply wool would also be greatly appreciated and can be left at the HACC Office at any time” Nina said. The first meeting will be held on Thursday 26th March at 10am in the HACC Office (which adjoins the Canowindra Library). Dependent on the level of interest, future dates and times will be decided at this meeting. “We can get together for a chat and a cup of tea, the social aspect is nice.” Wrap With Love is a not for profit organisation that began in 1992. The idea was to help people suffering extreme cold by providing warm wraps to ward off hypothermia. Knitted squares for wraps are made with 8ply wool and to measure 10×10’ or 25x25cm. Twenty eight assembled squares create one whole warm and sheltering wrap. So grab your needles and help start this worthwhile group on the 26th!
