Canowindra High School captains, Jack DeFreitas and Claire Wright had the opportunity to travel to Sydney and attend the Secondary Schools Leadership Program alongside school captains from across NSW. Claire and Jack visited NSW parliament where they were introduced to several MPs.
Over the June long weekend, Clancy Du-guid and Ryan McKenzie from year nine had the amazing opportunity to play for the Sydney University under 14s rugby union team. It was an incredible opportunity for the boys to showcase their talents and to get to play in the NSW Rugby Junior State Championship.
Year 10 have recently had the opportunity to experience the workforce through workplace learning. Many workplaces were visited and students were engaged in a variety of activities which have given them an idea of the real differences between work and school. A big thank you to those businesses that hosted our students.
We recently held our end of term two assembly to celebrate our students’ achievements. Congratulations to everyone who received bronze and silver merit certificates, life-saving awards, athletics age champions and runners up and our Student Representative Council (SRC) receiving their pins and certificates. A huge congratulations to our school dance team who gave us an amazing show of the dance they performed at the showcase in Bathurst.
Our Batyr students have been working hard to create a mental health event for next term. The Batyr group are excited to announce that De-Stress at CHS is coming soon. Stay tuned!
