Last Friday evening 250 people descended on the small village of Yeoval for the 2017 Daroo Business Awards Gala Presentation
Evening. Cargo kicked off the evening with Timber Tales winning Best New Business and Cargo Store winning Best Ongoing Business with Leanne Pearce Dog Wash Highly Commended for Best Home-Based Business. The Eugowra Newsagency and Supermarket received Highly Commended for Best Ongoing Business.
The Canowindra Phoenix was honoured to win the Daroo for Excellence in Marketing, Advertising and Communication for the
second year in a row. Sarah Maynard, Publisher of the Phoenix Group of Newspapers said “I am so very proud of my small and hardworking team!”
Adloyalty was awarded the winner of Excellence in Tourism for the “Discover the Riches” campaign. Rosnay Organics was awarded Highly Commended in the category of Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture. The contribution to Cabonne by a Business went to the Canowindra Balloon Challenge and Tara Walker from the Cudal Community Children’s Centre was the winner of the Apprentice/Trainer of the Year.
The Best Business in Cabonnne went to SPAR Supermarket in Molong.
Awards chairman and Executive Officer of Central NSW Business HQ Bruce Buchanan said the Daroos continued to go from strength-to-strength, with a record field of finalists this year and a sell-out crowd of 250 people attending the presentation dinner – the largest in the 18-year history of the awards.
Mr Buchanan said voting in a number of categories was also the closest on record. “In one category only one vote separated the three top finalists,” he said.
