Live Music Going Ahead In The New Year

17 December, 2020 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Country Education Foundation of Canowindra committee (pictured) have managed to go ahead with their live music fundraiser in the new year.

After postponing the event in April 2020 due to COVID-19 regulations, the Country Education Foundation of Canowindra (CEF) are happy to announce the rescheduled date for their live music fundraising event will be Saturday, 6 March 2021.

It is shaping up to be a great night out in Canowindra, with the CEF putting on a live music fundraising event at the recently upgraded Canowindra Showground. With food stalls, bar and live music featuring the amazing musical talents of 2020 ARIA nominated Gordi and other local stars, it is the perfect setting for a family friendly out-door event.

The CEF is proud to have the support of Gordi but also Bonny Rai, Ben Nash (78 Saab) and Joe Wythes who will be sharing the stage throughout the evening all with their family roots stemming from the community of Canowindra.

“I think everyone enjoys live music and we are fortunate enough to have some very talented musicians from our area who are willing to give their time to support our local CEF. The musicians didn’t hesitate to offer their services to help our local youth achieve their goals,” said Foundation member Peter Stacey.

CEF Canowindra was established to pro-vide much needed financial assistance and support to local youth to help them achieve their post-high school education, training and vocation aspirations. They recognise that the cost of rural students pursuing their post high school goals is often much greater than those of their metropolitan counterparts and that sometimes these costs can be prohibitive. With this in mind, CEF Canowindra fundraises throughout the year and accepts donations from local residents and businesses in order to provide financial grants to students who need an extra helping hand. The funds come directly from your local community – none of it is government funded.

Tickets for the event are available online from Eventbrite and ticket holders of the postponed event are still valid. Bring your camp chairs or picnic blankets. This is a licensed event so no BYO alcohol is permitted. You can keep up to date with the event and additional details on Facebook @canowindramusicandeventsco.
