Light The Night

19 October, 2016 By editor

Light the Night is happening again this year and will be held on Saturday November 5th at the Sports Trust Oval, with gates opening
at 3pm. The evening will kick off with the Rugby Union verse the Rugby League match. The game will be played a bit different with one half being played as Rugby Union then the other half as Rugby League. The rivalry has already started so it will be a game not to be missed.

Following the match there will be an afternoon full of market stalls with over 50 on display. There will be entertainment for the kids with dancers, singers and a special appearance from the much loved Minion Man and Peppa Pig. This will then lead up to the main spectacular of the evening being the beautiful lantern walk, which will take place on dusk with a magical hot air balloon glowing while
everybody walks around the oval.

There will be plenty of merchandise available to be purchased on the night as well as lots of raffles. Some of the raffle items include vouchers from local businesses in Canowindra and a beautiful 2 night stay at Greentrees Retreat on the outskirts of Orange valued at $550. Tickets cost $2 each or 3 for $5 and will be drawn on the night. Lanterns will be available for purchase on the day and all lanterns purchased in previous years are also encouraged to be brought along.

Due to the kind donations from Kinsela Farm Supplies and Kens Service Centre the committee were able to order their own design of Light the Night shirts which will be available to purchase on the day, adults $20 and kids $15. Anyone who would like to come along to the event the entry price is a gold coin donation.
