On Monday 12th November 2018, the board of the Age of Fishes Museum awarded Denese Smith and Kenneth Saward Life Membership to the Age of Fishes Museum.
Denese and Ken were awarded the Life Membership to the museum as they have donated the 1963 Holden Fossil painted car to the Age of Fishes Museum’s Association.
The car is an icon around Canowindra and is important because Charlie McCarron used it to gather financial support from the Council for the construction of the Age of Fishes Museum some time ago.
One week before the donation of the special car to the museum took place, an individual offered to buy the car at its market price from Ken and Denese. The car is currently valued at between $18,000 – $20,000.
The fossil car will now be registered with the Central Western Car Club and will be used extensively for advertising and promotion of The Age of Fishes Museum.
The Age of Fishes Museum board and volunteers want to say a special thank you to Ken and Denese for this very generous donation.
