The NRL LEarning Centre will be running a Level 1 Sports TRainer Course on Saturday, 22nd April and Sunday, 23rd April at Sid Kallas Oval. The cost for the course is $180.
The Level 1 Sports Trainer course covers how to manage emergency situations and apply first aid in a Rugby League environment as well as injury management, crisis management, concussion management, sports taping and transporting an injured athlete.
Participants are required to complete NRL online learning modules, these include:
• The Role of the First Responder
• Concussion Management in Rugby League
• Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology
• Introduction to Nutrition and Hydration
• Activity for Injury Prevention
• Online Injury Reporting – Community Rugby League
• All candidates who successfully complete the course will receive a digital Statement of Attainment for the units of competency:
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
As well as a digital Level 1 Sports Trainer Certificate, issued by the NRL. Candidates who already hold a current first and CPR certification can apply for recognition of prior learning.
