Dear Editor,
Last Thursday, we had finally been able to afford to put the power on our 10 acre property. All 3 poles on our property had been erected and the main pole was left at our front gate waiting Essential energy to power up . However, we soon discovered (as did Essential Energy) that all the parts for the pole had been stolen … obviously to inconvenience us as well as the supplier. No big deal as parts can be replaced but it meant we would now probably have to wait another 3 weeks before we could finally have power. The part that upsets me the most about this stupid act is that my 92 yr old mum has just recently moved in with us … she has been diagnosed with early stage dementia, and we had just put a air con in her room to help her sleep and make her more comfortable…. she was looking forward to this , but we had to explain that she would have to wait a little longer . She was very upset and very angry .. so unfair . I just want the perpetrator to realise that this senseless act had a huge impact on a very old lady.
