Dear Editor,
I would like to say ‘thumbs down’ to the people who put a thumbs down in issue 333 about the mural not being ‘done’. You can’t rush art! I wonder if you get scuffles from people writing these tit for tat thumbs. Thumbs ups are more uplifting to read than thumbs downs, perhaps abolishing them altogether would make people happier? Thumbs down adds negativity to the community, we almost lost a wonderful artist from the thumbs down about the mural. It is not a commissioned piece of work. It’s for the town and patience is required. It’s sad that people feel negative when the mural is a positive, just because people don’t see the effect negative comments have doesn’t mean it’s ok to say them.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Lord
