It seems Mark Brown in Letters 335 has misunderstood my position on the mooted dam at Cranky Rock. I said that I think we should get on with the construction, then pointed out later that that the engineering should take account of silting so that the two matters of natural fertiliser still being distributed onto the river flats downstream and that silting up did not occur inside the dam from upstream waters. It appears that whimsy and sarcasm are no longer in the lexicon of most people who still perhaps think that grammar is their mothers mum.
