Dear Sarah,
I am bitterly disappointed in councils decision to allow a service station to be built in our main heritage/conservation street on a site partly subjected to flood plain, next to our much valued Belubula River which serves many farmers in our area.
As a resident and ratepayer we rely on council to protect our heritage listing and the uniqueness of our town, to enhance and beautify our streets, not cause extra traffic, noise and pollution with a facility to be open all night.
Many residents are now aware of this decision and majority are not happy with the outcome.
In future, younger generations will wonder how this was ever allowed to happen in these days of protecting our environment and they will have to live with the outcome.
