Dearest Editor,
I wish to extend my admiration to the Canowindra community for the strength that has been displayed during the recent floods. I have been a follower of the Phoenix Newspapers ongoing for five years and reading about Canowindra especially, has always resonated with me.
My mother lived in the community many years ago when I was a little girl. I remember going to St Edwards and had many friends. I have continued to read the Canowindra Phoenix to keep track of how my home has been doing after I moved away many years ago.
I especially wanted to say thank you to the community for the strength that has been displayed during the recent floods and the inspiring story that was written last issue. I have also been following the flood stories online and in many ways Canowindra has seemed more fortunate than places such as Forbes or Gooloogong.
Canowindra, thank you for your ongoing support to one another and your generosity! I am who I am today because of the people I grew up with many years ago in my little hometown. I hope the youth of today will continue to hold the same love that many of us have for our community.
