Dear Editor,
Yes there is a “silent majority” in this town, mainly long-time residents and rate payers who have seen “silent minorities” come and go and many of whom saw the DA for the service station and opposed to Council.
The objections I hear are really nonsense – tourists will still come maybe even need petrol! As for noises, really? About 3 in 30 years and then there were protests from business owners about the street being closed.
Our beautiful historic main street could use a good clean and most buildings need paint. From the Historical Society the heritage listing is from Junction Hotel to Railway Cottage.

PS – I don’t suppose you will print this because I have not read a positive word about the service station in the Phoenix.
