To the Editor,
I would like to give a big thank you to the Wrap with Love knitters. We commenced in March and ended our meetings in November 2019. During this time we managed to produce 90 wraps which we sent to Orange to be passed on to head quarters in Sydney. I hope some of these will be used to bring comfort to those who suffered in the recent bush fires.
Congratulations and thanks to our members, many of whom provide their own wool to come up with colourful designs and patterns each month.
Thanks must also go to the members of the community who do not knit but contribute much needed wool. Each month this is sorted through and our members select the colours they need to complete their designs.
Some of our rugs are displayed in the HACC office window to encourage new members.
We meet at the HACC office at 10am on the fourth Thursday of each month starting in March.
If there are knitters who cannot attend our meetings or cannot produce twenty eight 25cm squares to make a rug we can combine them with others to complete a rug.
I would also like to give a special thanks to Bev Wilson who has been sewing many of our wraps together and comes up with lovely designs. Thanks Bev we all appreciate being able to rely on you to put the squares together.
I hope to see an increased attendance at our meetings and we can knit, chat and enjoy a morning tea together.
Let’s see if in 2020 we can crack the 100 mark.
Thanks everyone,
Nina Kallas.
