Good wishes to all from Al and Deb as we continue our travels.
Since the last update we stayed in Mt Isa for a couple of days, sightseeing and shopping. Great view from the lookout over the main mine area which is right in the town.
Travelled 500kms north up to Normanton in the Carpentaria Gulf with a couple of days sightseeing and fishing. Deb caught and released a 40cm sea catfish al zero.
We then started heading up to Cape York as we headed east 800kms to Palmer River for one night then north 400kms up to Archer River and a further 400kms up to Seisia Holiday Park crossing the Jardine River on the ferry to get there.
The park is right on the seaside in Endeavour Strait great sites and views with palm trees and all.
The next day we drove 40kms up to the top of Cape York on a very thin challenging track at times through what seems like a tropical jungle definitely only 4WD country.
Pajinka is the actual area name with stunning seaside views and the hilly cape tip further on. It was way too rough for us to climb and walk the last 800m to the actual tip but we were very happy to have got as far as we did.
Couple of days fishing and relaxing now then on Monday 22nd July we headed the 1,350kms down to Townsville for 9 days, we arrived there on Wednesday the 24th July.
So goodbye for now…
From Al and Deb till next update.
