My husband Pete and sons Dan and Tim competed in the Tatts Finke Desert Race in Alice Springs on the long weekend. This is considered the hardest off-road race in Australia and involves riding from Alice Springs to Finke 228km one day, camping in the desert under the stars and racing back to Alice the next day. All of them successfully completed day one.
On the second day, a tragic accident in the morning saw the return race for motor-bikes cancelled. They still all rode home in convoy on the race track. Dan and Tim rode together waiting for their dad at fuel stops. They all came over finish line togeth-er much to my relief!
We are so grateful for the kind sponsorship of motorbike tyres by Canowindra Tyre Service. Al, Tom and their kids also came to Alice and we got to spend some fun time with them.
