Letter to the Editor…

20 March, 2019 By editor

Dear Editor,

On the 28th March the Wrap with Love knitters will hold their first meeting for this year at the Canowindra HACC office. We knit squares which are sewn together to make rugs that eventually find their way to places around the world which need them.

With the recent floods, volcanoes, landslides and earthquakes these rugs provide much needed comfort.

If you can knit come along and join us in knitting 25cm squares. By knitting 28 squares for a full rug or just individual squares that can be sewn together to make rugs such as those on display in the HACC office window. Every square is greatly appreciated.

In the past years we have managed to produce many rugs which are sent to Orange and then to Sydney to be sent wherever they are needed around the world.

Come along, knit a square and have a friendly morning knitting, chatting and enjoying a cuppa.

If you can’t spend the time but can knit. Drop off your squares into the HACC office and we will see that they are added to others to make a colourful rug.
Donations of 8 ply acrylic wool are also gratefully appreciated.

I hope to see some new faces on Thursday 28th March 2019 at 10am.

Thank you,
Nina Kallas

Following In His Father’s Footsteps

15 April, 2021 By editor

When Beau Wheeldon competed in the State Little Athletics, he was literally running in his father’s footsteps. He won the under 10s 100 metre sprint, some 35 years after his dad, Marc Wheeldon, earned the same place in the same race. “It is very special to share it,” said Marc. “It was really cool to […]
