I must confess to not being either a lawyer, nor having read the Legislation for the new road rule that requires those drivers approaching an incident where flashing lights are evident to suddenly reduce speed.
The same law has been introduced in WA and it made me wonder, particularly when you might be approaching this scene on a freeway speed of 100kmph, who is responsible for the rear end shunt when the vehicle following your vehicle has that drivers sight obscured and your sudden braking to 40kmph creates mayhem.
Will we see the politician who has introduced this Legislation put up their hand to acknowledge their part. Is there anybody out there doing any thinking…
