Dear Sarah and the Canowindra community,
ANZAC Day apology
I write this letter to unreservedly apologise to the Canowindra community for the noise from the first floor of the Canowindra Hotel during the ANZAC day service last week. The noise and behaviour was disrespectful and not consistent with the Canowindra Hotels’ values and our desire to create a family friendly establishment for all to enjoy. Whilst I have personally spoken and apologised to
the President of the Canowindra branch of the RSL and various community members, the aim of this letter is to ensure that everyone affected receives my apology.
During the service, I was in the garden on the north side of the Hotel listening to the service and unfortunately could not hear the individuals on the first-floor of the Hotel. As soon as I was informed I immediately removed everyone from the veranda but acknowledge this was too late. As the Licensee of the Canowindra Hotel, the behaviour of the patrons at the Hotel is my responsibility.
As such, I accept full responsibility and again offer an unreserved apology to the Canowindra community present at the service.
Whilst I can’t change the past now, I can learn and assure the community that all efforts are being made to ensure the Canowindra Hotel consistently displays its’ family friendly and community focused values in the future.
Yours Sincerely
Paul Brouwers
