Well the time has come for me to say goodbye to The Canowindra Phoenix after 7 years in the business.
What an amazing time it has been for me here at The Phoenix with some real career highlights.
I started in the business in 2013 in the accounts department and after starting a family took over the business from my mum, Cheryl Newsom in March 2017 when she semi-retired. I then also took on the role of editor in June 2017 alongside running the business including The Canowindra Phoenix, The Forbes Phoenix and The Parkes Phoenix on a daily basis.
In 2018 The Canowindra Phoenix was awarded Best Business in Cabonne at the Daroo Business Awards which was a very exciting milestone for the paper. With a great team behind me we all worked very hard each week to bring you interesting and informative local community news that I hope you enjoy.
After selling the business in October 2019 I have stayed on as Editor but feel now is the time to move on to other exciting things.
I would like to thank the Canowindra community for allowing me to cover the stories and events that shape our little town each week. I will really miss interacting with the friendly faces of Canowindra.
To all the readers, contributors and advertisers, thank you for your support as without you the Phoenix would not exist each week.
I wish the business every success in the future and look forward to receiving my Phoenix in the mailbox each week!
