Something that I have been hearing about a lot lately is the use of natural remedies to treat a common cold or headache.
I am sure each family would have their own traditions passed down but who else was told growing up to have a cup of tea with ginger and honey to get over a cold? There’s no wonder why, our food has an abundance of health properties. Ginger is known as an anti-inflammatory, can help fight infections along with so many other health benefits. Honey is anti-bacterial, reduces cough’s and throat inflammation, strengthens the immune system as well as so much more. More and more people are getting back to natural remedies to help them get through the woes of winter.

Many people are also choosing to get back to their natural roots with some even using essential oils, which have been used since ancient times. An essential oil is basically a compound from seeds, bark, roots, flowers as well as other plant parts. They can be used for a variety of emotional and physical needs and the quality of the oil will often determine the affects.
Whether you use essential oils or natural remedies it is an interesting concept that our own food can heal us. There is no denying that there is amazing health benefits found in our food all across the world.
