League Under Lights

12 May, 2022 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

It was a very busy Saturday at the Canowindra Oval last weekend. The Canowindra Tigers hosted the Junior League games in the morning before the Canowindra Pythons took to the field at 2pm.

The new lights were then switched on for the League Tag at 5.40pm followed by the first grade game at 7pm.

The League Tag girls went down 36-10 to Trundle. First grade got the win though beating the Trundle Boomers 30-0 and being down to only 10 men on the field at one stage.

A reminder that Royce’s Big Walk Sportsman’s Luncheon will be held this Sunday 15th May at 12pm at Canowindra Services Club. Guest speakers include Royce Simmons, Paul Dunn, Craig Gower, Tony Butterfield and local legend Ian “Bunda” Breen. Tickets are $65pp and include a two course meal, head online to www.stickytickets.com.au to purchase.

This weekend the Tigers have a bye due to the Representative games being played in Canowindra. Youth League will kick off at 12.20pm, League Tag at 1.40pm and First grade at 3pm…entry is free!
