The League Tag girls were very successful on Sunday the 6th of April as they ventured out to verse Gooloogong on their home grounds for the first time.
This was Gooloogong League Tag’s first game in the competition, they were aware that versing Canowindra would be a difficult match as they were last season’s minor premiers and previous seasons winners. Gooloogong did not give in throughout the whole match as Canowindra were able to put 88 points on the scoreboard by the end of the game with Gooloogong unable to score.
Congratulations to Tanika Wensley who was awarded Players Player for the day. Also great work to the girls who scored many tries in order to put the points on the board. Ashley McLean 3, Alicia Earsman 3, Tanika Wensley 3, Caitlin Walker 2, Madi Vitnell 2, Jamie-Lee Edwards, Amy Carr, Hannah Roth and Eryn Coles all scoring one try each.
This is Canowindra League Tag’s second consecutive win; let’s hope the girls can remain undefeated as they verse last year’s champions at next week’s home game.
