Tractor-thon drivers and committee members are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the event in 2023.
On Saturday, 10th June, four antique tractors will take to the Canowindra Showground race track to continuously drive for 24 hours.
In its fifth year, the Tractor-thon raises much needed funds and awareness for charities, and this year Little Wings will be the benefactor.
“We like to try and keep our funds raised as local as possible, with Little Wings supporting many of children and families of the Central West, we decided it would be the perfect organisation to support.”
The tractors will take to the course after a very special opening from Bathurst local, four year old Eliza McFarlane who is currently battling Lymphocytic Leukaemia.
After hreceiving eight months of intensive treatment in Westmead, Eliza is now back home in Bathurst receiving maintenance treatments for the next 16 months. It is a true honor to have Eliza and her family coming to Canowindra to open the Tractor-thon.
There will be plenty of noise as the drivers blow their horns to spectators during the daylight hours, with both young and old spectators certain enjoy the show.
Settling in for 30 minute shifts, the drivers will then power on through the night until 2pm the next day when they cross the finish line.
“It is so great to see members of the committee, press and other guest take the opportunity to drive the tractors, many of whom don’t actually own tractors,” explains Nicholas.
“The drivers themselves raise the money through sponsorship and money can be donated on the day as well,” said Nicholas.
