Ladies Golf

3 September, 2020 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

On Wednesday 19th August a small field of 9 players played due to the weather but that didn’t deter Maureen from joining in, welcome back.

The course was well presented, thanks to the volunteers mowing, it was very much appreciated.

The 5th Monthly Medal, Putting and the Legacy Cup were contested. In a very close competition Lorrae and Annette both finished on 80 Nett with Lorrae winning on a countback taking out the monthly medal as well as the Legacy Cup. Well done Lorrae, Annette there is still another medal round to come to get that medal!

Julie won the putting with only 32 putts. Annette did win the ball sweep and Maureen won the raffle.

Last week the Forsythe Cup was won by Helen Constable and Lorrae Barker on 83 Nett followed closely by Helen Kemper and Annette Thomas with 83.38. Anne won the ball sweep and Marea won the lucky wheel.

The Eileen Garnsey Memorial Salver match play is under way. Helen Kemper defeated Ros 5/4, Eileen defeated Julie 5/4, and in the 2nd round Lorrae defeated Collette 5/4 while Eileen took Helen K to the 18th before claiming a win. The final will be between Lorrae and Eileen on Thursday 10th September. Pink Day, a fundraising day for Breast Cancer is on Saturday 19th September at the golf club, if you don’t care to swing a club, there’s a raffle with some very enticing prizes, tickets available now.
