The golfing ladies are still out enjoying the sunshine on Canowindra’s beautiful but often challenging course. The April monthly medal winner was Julie Fairley with 74 nett; putting went to Thelma Bliss with 29 putts. Par event was won by Anne Cassidy on square. WDLGA Spoon Event is a Stableford competition. Results; Div 1 winner Julie Fairley 35 pts R/U Ros Partridge on 32, Div 2 Eileen 39 pts R/U Rhonda 31, Div 3 Ann 32 and R/U Thelma 27.
Upcoming tournaments include Dubbo on Thursday 28th April, Forbes on Sunday 1st May and Molong on Thursday 5th May. The Western Districts Tournament is at Parkes from 10th-12th May this year and is one the highlights of the programme. Anyone interested is invited to join the golfers at their table at Saffi’s fashion parade on Saturday.
The Mixed Foursomes Championship will be held on Saturday 21st and Sat 28th May, it would be great if anyone interested could attend this event. Pennants will be held at Canowindra on Monday 16th May against West Wyalong.
